Chef Amanda Brown discovered her passion for cooking at an early age while exploring both of her grandmothers cookbook collections. Their styles of cooking varied greatly, but with nana Mozzetta’s lifelong skills in Southern Cuisine and nonna Petralia’s Italian New Jersey influence it turned everyday cooking into a fun family experience. Having family in Baltimore and spending summers there also gave Chef Brown a lot of hands on experience with seafood and it’s preparation.
Amanda accepted her first culinary position at the age of 14 with a local immigrant owned sandwich and sub shop. Moving forward she received opportunities to work for companies such as Luray Caverns and Massanutten Resort while still living in Virginia. After relocating to Tennessee 13 years ago Chef Brown has held positions at popular restaurants such as Cracker Barrel, The Appalachian, and Junction 35 which is also the first Restaurant Distillery in the state.
With all of the knowledge and experience acquired at this point in her career, in 2022 Amanda was given an amazing opportunity to hold four pop up restaurant events in Knoxville Tennessee, and with a lot of community support she was able to sell out each event. Chef Brown also has a strong passion towards cooking for charity and held two benefit events in 2022 with the proceeds of the the first event going to UNICEF for Ukraine and the second going to Autism Breakthrough of Knoxville.
Amanda is also a mother of two wonderful children and received a certification from Vanderbilt in 2018 to support children with disabilities and provide parents of children enrolled in public school IEP guidance and assistance throughout that process. She enjoys helping her community and volunteering with local animal shelters or assisting with makeup for the local special needs prom.
